The 9th Annual Conference of the Cochlear Implant Group of India is all set to provide an academic feast in the realm of cochlear implants and related topics.
We have a star studded international guest faculty comprising Prof Robert Briggs (Melbourne, Australia), Dr Neil Donnelly (Cambridge, UK), Dr Christiaan Strietberger (Meran, Italy), Mr Stephan Brill (Wurzburg, Germany), Mr John Briggs (Cambridge, UK) and Ms Paola Incerti (Sydney, Australia).
The preconference workshop (CIGI CI course) will take place on 24 November at Sahara Hospital. It will be most valuable to young surgeons, audiologists and habilitationists who are keen to or have started cochlear implant programmes. The course will cover all basic topics related to a CI programme, temporal bone demonstration with various CI devices, live surgery, sessions on habilitation and an opportunity for hands on mapping.
The main conference will run from the morning of 25 till lunch on 27 November at the Scientific Convention Centre. It will provide the opportunity for active participation with international guest faculty as well as with experienced local professionals.
The events of the conference include 16 guest lectures which will include current issues like hearing preservation, ABI and CI in single sided deafness. In addition symposium on other implantable devices such as BAHA and Vibrant Soundbridge, round table on Bimodal – Bilateral strategies, panel discussion on CI in Chronic otitis media, Company cross talk, three company symposia, free papers, oral posters and not to forget the exciting CIGI Quiz with great prizes to be won.
